Our Story

Our story begins like so many modern fairy tales; on an app. After we matched, Brian made the first move by messaging Lauren where they quickly hit it off with friendly banter. He was also quick to ask for a first date, and they met the very next day.

Our first date was on July 2, 2021 at Renshaw’s in Clawson where we started to get to know each other over a drink. We clicked immediately and skipped (most) of the awkward parts of a first date. After our night was going so well, Brian suggested that we could head somewhere else and that he knew some people at Ye Olde Saloon in Royal Oak. While Brian casually mentioned that his sister was also at the next bar, Lauren wasn’t sure whether to think it was crazy she was meeting his family on day one or if it was completely normal because they were close friends as well as siblings.

After Annmarie (Brian’s sister) and the group of friends, the rest of the night was spent playing shuffleboard, reading palms (iykyk) and shameless flirting. By the end of it, we both knew that we wanted to see the other again. Two days later, we went out to dinner for our second date and stumbled upon some fireworks on the lake. The following day, Lauren came over to Brian’s house to go boating with some of his friends. Looking back, it’s both funny and maybe a little crazy that we went from being complete strangers to spending a significant amount of time together but there are no rules when you’ve met the right person. The benefit of meeting in our thirties meant that we had grown up and knew what we were looking for, and found that in each other.

Fast forward to nearly three years later and we still never run out of things to talk and laugh about. These last few years have included many adventures like traveling to 8 states and out of the country, adding another corgi to our crew, attending music festivals and concerts, going fully domestic and growing a garden together, and a LOT of boating. But it’s safe to say that our favorite thing we’ve done together is created a home that’s full of love (and puppies) where we can host friends and family.

Hosting our wedding will be our biggest party ever (seriously, we cannot fit this many people in our house). We can’t wait to dance the night away with all of our favorite people!
